VELHICE begins 10.000 of years ago, when most of Europe was covered in glaciers. While for the longest time it was water, wind, ice and heat that impacted our landscapes – today, the anthropologic impact outweighs. We change the course of rivers, design the vegetations of huge plains and attempt to tame wind and water. It does not go unseen. Rivers that once served as veins for entire ecosystems turn dry. Monocultures of inflammable vegetation become highways for wildfires. Our emissions alter the climate. VELHICE attempts a change of perspective and raises questions on how we can continue on a sustainable path.
